All patients with varicose and/or spider veins are thoroughly assessed and, sometimes, also sent for a mapping ultrasound. Many spider veins and some varicose veins can be treated by sclerotherapy which is an injection treatment. Spider veins are usually treated with a salt and sugar in water solution which is generally well-tolerated.

Cryotherapy is a treatment that uses very low temperatures to freeze skin lesions such as skin tags, sun spots, and seborrheic dermatoses. A scab forms on the lesion and in several days, it peels off.

She then moved to London where she opened a vein clinic here. She has been certified in Botox ™ and filler injections since 2002 and has been using medical laser devices for more than 15 years.
Dr. Gilpin is a member of the Canadian Society of Phlebology, the American College of Phlebology, the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and the Canadian Society of Aesthetic Medicine.
She routinely attends medical conferences in all aspects of her practice and participates in the continuing professional development program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
